This elegant console table was made 150 years ago in China’s Shanxi province and likely served as a family’s altar where they paid respects to revered ancestors. The altar table is crafted of a classic Chinese wood: ironwood (tielimu), it has aged beautifully over time. A wonderful addition to the home, the console is exceptionally lovely with carved spandrels, everted ends, and legs ending in gently splayed feet.
