Bent Bamboo Altar Table

The artisan who created this exquisite lattice altar table must have truly been a master of their craft. Constructed of carefully bent bamboo, the table has a straight, open frame patterned with intricate latticework. The abundant latticework decorates the simple console table with graphic patterns that crisscross and flow sinuously up the sides. Coated in a layer of black lacquer, the table top adds striking contrast to the warmth of the bamboo frame. This graceful play of light and dark draws the eye and was characteristic of bamboo furniture made for the Imperial Palace.
