This ceramic vessel from Shanxi province has a smoky grey-taupe exterior with balanced proportions and a matte, unglazed finish. Charged with the humble task of storing dry goods, the earthenware jar has a tapered form with rounded shoulders and a flat rim. Left undecorated, the jar has a quiet beauty, patterned only by firing imperfections and the brushed texture of its mottled slip clay finish. We love this storied vessel as a planter for indoor houseplants.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
