Taking months or even years to create, this handwoven kilim carpet is made of wool tinted with natural vegetable dyes, resulting in a beautiful palette of subdued colors that never feels artificial. Dated to the 1970s, the pileless carpet was woven using a slitweave technique and as a result, many of the color changes are separated by a small gap, or slit. This technique accounts for the carpet's bold, geometric design, as diagonal patterns prevent the carpet from becoming weakened by these vertical slits. Designed with a lively arrangement of diamonds, triangles, and crosses, this vintage carpet is a fantastic example of the kilim style and a beautiful addition to the home.
