Just like contemporary flat-file storage, this tall camphor chest once provided a Qing-dynasty official or businessman with ample storage to organize flat documents and important papers. Dated to the late 19th century, the upright cabinet has nine drawers stacked within a square frame, topped by a low railing for additional storage up top. Exhibiting the beautiful grain and warm coloring of camphor (changmu), this document cabinet makes for a handsome storage solution in a home office or art studio.
