A glassy blue-green glaze sheets, pools, and drips across the rounded body of this provincial kitchen pot, lingering beautifully on the low relief decoration to the jar's shoulders. Among these raised patterns are chrysanthemum blossoms for joviality, shou characters for longevity, and bands of simple meanders. Dated to the early 20th century, the jar was likely used to store vinegar, grains, or other foodstuffs, as evidenced by its dark interior glaze. With its gorgeous crackled finish and spellbinding color, this round jar adds the perfect pop of color to any interior.
