Hand-carved from solid limestone, these mythical figures are qilin, hybrid creatures from Chinese mythology thought to bring luck and happiness. Crouching upon lotus plinths, these qilin are sculpted with lion-like features, though with the head of a dragon, belly of a snake, and feathered, fan-like tails. Divine and peaceful creatures, qilin are believed to be benevolent protectors of those with good intentions. We love the idea of nestling these whimsical beasts in a shady corner of a garden, guarding the home with their watchful eyes.
