Glowing Embers Inkstone Dish

A fixture of the Chinese scholars' studio, the inkstone was among the "Four Treasures of the Study" and was used in calligraphy and landscape painting along with paper, ink and brush. This contemporary inkstone is carved of a solid stone with deep red color and flecks of yellow-orange, an irregular pattern reminiscent of marbled lacquer.
