This small stone top table exemplifies Organic Modern style with an emphasis on natural materials. The organic shape and irregular patterning of the stone slab top evokes the complexities of nature, reminiscent of a mossy cliffside or a calm river with drifting algae. Currents of green, pink and black mineral inclusions flow through the marbled white and grey stone, enlivening the neutral field with bold color.

Unearthed in Jiangsu province, the stone slab has been polished to accentuate its mottled coloring and is elevated by a reclaimed wood two-leg base for use as a low coffee table. Composed of solid black walnut, each leg was sculpted by a local Chicago artisan who power carves with handheld tools to create unique spherical forms. The irregular shapes accentuate the table's wabi-sabi charm, with one leg of oblong form and the other stacked like a cairn of piled stones.

This sculptural table consists of three separate pieces that must be assembled together when installed. The stone slab is not affixed to the wooden legs and simply rests on top. The slab weighs approximately 150 lbs. To prevent damage or injury, we recommend placing the table in an area with limited traffic or activity.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
