A late 19th-century Chinese kitchen vessel glazed inside and out for use as a food storage container or pickling pot. The terracotta jar has a squat shape with rounded shoulders, tapered sides and a widemouth neck. The surface is decorated with white clay slip and a sgraffito design of abstract florals and geometric key work, finished with light and dark brown glaze for a neutral color palette. Today, we love this Qing kitchen jar as a storied planter or vase, filled with flowers or leafy foliage.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
