As evidenced by the interior glaze, this wide-mouth jar was once used in a provincial Qing-dynasty kitchen for storing food and condiments. The large vessel has a gently tapered form, with rounded shoulders, small strap handles and a short, straight neck. A lustrous brown glaze
cloaks the jar's upper half and catches the light with a soft sheen.
The lower half is darkened by a contrasting glaze with dark brown color and a matte, textured finish.
