Hand-Carved Tigerman Footed Puddingstone Basin

This footed stone basin was carved by hand out of a stone indigenous to Southern China. The stones collected from the bottom of this lake have held a prized place in Chinese gardens and in scholars' studios for many generations. A collector of unusual 18th century stone worked closely with local artisans to design this modern basin—a beautiful interpretation of this ancient tradition.
