This matching set of engraved silver cigarette accessories exemplifies Japanese refinement in all crafts. The set includes a rectangular cigarette case and a lighter, now emptied of the interior mechanism. Both are finely engraved with mountainside pagoda visible through swaying grasses and flowering branches of cherry blossoms. Known as tō in Japan, pagodas are iconic tiered towers derived from Buddhist architecture and are a common feature of landscape paintings. Gold plating adds soft color to the silvery surface and reminds us of golden hour light. A commemorative engraving on back of each item attributes the set as a gift to the 1953 All-Korea Tennis Team Champions. Both items are stamped with a "Sterling 950" mark.

Includes the original black leather box.
