Finely Woven Carrying Box

A work of art in itself, this round box is comprised of two layers of finely woven thin reeds within a lacquered bamboo frame. The lid is painted with a delicate scene of two birds perched beneath lotus blossoms, emblems of summer and perfection. Surmounted by an arched handle, this antique box has a graceful form and looks wonderful as a decorative addition to a bookshelf or console table.
