This monumental lacquered elmwood sign of honor was carved in northern China during the mid-19th century. The large central characters read as "Wu Zheng Ever Green", and - loosely translated - wishes Mr. Wu Zheng eternal youth. Characters painted on the left tell us that this sign was given to Zheng on his 60th birthday, while those painted on the right tell us the names of those who presented Zheng with the sign. A charming piece of history, this sign continues to offer blessings of strength and longevity as a grand wall decoration.

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
