With an open shelf above and a closed compartment below, this early 20th century book cabinet is the perfect mix of storage and display. Crafted of elm with mortise-and-tenon joinery, the cabinet has a square-corner design with a short stature and simple silhouette. The exterior is cloaked in red-brown lacquer, now gently faded from years of use and finished with a protective clear coat. This warm, burgundy color is contrasted by a black lacquer top and the soft metallic sheen of its full moon brass lock plate. Today, we love it as an unexpected bar cabinet stocked with bottles, glassware and kitchen supplies.

Brass hardware is replacement.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
