Dated to the early 20th century, this low daybed has a timeless simplicity, featuring a woven rattan top, four square legs and an open, clean-lined apron. The frame is crafted of northern elm (yumu) using mortise-and-tenon joinery and finished with a sheer layer of dark brown lacquer and a protective clear coat. Known as "ta," this style of low-lying daybed was used throughout the courtyard home as a portable surface for reclining, playing games, and gathering for food and drink.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
