Originally used for pickling and food preservation, this 19th-century ceramic vessel is cloaked on the inside in an unusual turquoise glaze. Two serpentine dragons wind around the exterior, painted with expressive brushstrokes and textured with scales stamped in low relief. Embodying the spirit of change and life itself, the dragon is the perfect motif for a planter filled with lush flowers and foliage.

Base of vessel is drilled to allow for drainage. In keeping with its age, vessel has two hairline cracks and is sold as is at $1,680.
