This 19th century stacked chest from Shanxi, China was commissioned to commemorate the wedding of a new bride. Comprised of multiple tray-like boxes enclosed in a carved frame, the chest would have been part of a ceremonial procession and filled with the bride's dowry. It's meticulous design carved with a detailed lattice pattern is a tribute to her family’s elegance and good taste. Two people would have carried the box with a long pole inserted through the round iron hardware attached to the carved triangular frame.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
