This 19th-century moongazing chair from northern China was constructed by a provincial carpenter who heated and bent willow wood into the rounded and upturned shape of the chair's arms. This simple, sculptural form hearkens back to classic Chinese furniture design, but remains unique to the artisan's personal aesthetic with unusual upturned arms. Beautifully worn from use, time has added a rich patina to the chair's original finish.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
