These elegant porcelain baluster jars are distinct for their wonderfully sculptural shape, defined by a rounded body that tapers gracefully to a narrow, flared base. The pair is decorated with overglaze enamels in the famille verte style, using a palette of emerald greens, rich earth tones, and dusty pinks.

The sides are intricately painted with branches laden with blossoms and ripe pomegranates, contrasted by a white field. The pomegranates are split open to reveal a bounty of seeds, a motif symbolizing a wish for a large family of 'one hundred sons.' Bands of scale-work ring the neck and base with deep turquoise-green color. The domed lids are topped by teardrop-shaped knobs and painted with clusters of chrysanthemums, symbols of autumn and longevity.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
