Pair of Black Lacquer Locking Cabinets

Perfecting line and proportion, the simple design of this pair of locking cabinets celebrates the restraint of classic Chinese furniture forms. Used for storage in a Qing-dynasty home, the pair of small square-corner cabinets would have been placed at opposite ends of a room or wall to instill a sense of balance.
