Perfecting line and proportion, the simple design of this pair of locking cabinets celebrates the restraint of classic Chinese furniture forms. Used for storage in a Qing-dynasty home, the pair of small square-corner cabinets would have been placed at opposite ends of a room or wall to instill a sense of balance. Each cabinet is minimally decorated save for its black lacquer finish and the soft glimmer of its brass dagger-post lock. We love these cabinets as a pair of nightstands or next to a high-arm sofa, filled with a collection of contemporary art books or antique tomes.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
