This little jar is a beautiful example of Mesoamerican pottery, decorated with red and white slip clay in the style of Chupícuaro ware. The olla vessel has a wide, globular body with a rounded base, constricted neck, and flared lip. The exterior is decorated with a charming pattern of dotted circles resembling a floral or botanical motif. Beautifully aged with a rich patina and pitted wear, this petite olla is an exquisite example of Pre-Columbian artistry.

Minor wear to slip finish.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
