Quiet and refined, this 19th-century ceramic stool honors tradition with its simple, drum-form shape. Ringing both its top and bottom, a pattern of boss-head nails imitates those used to stretch a skin on an actual drum, and a peach-shaped cutout perforates one side, a symbol of longevity and protection against evil. Sculpted from a soft clay with pale grey color, the drum has a narrow shape ideal today as a display pedestal or as a side table for a single drink.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
