Exhibiting a rich patina, this petite redware vessel shows many telltale signs of Pre-Columbian pottery. Speckled with imperfections, the vessel's warm red-orange coloration was achieved by applying a mineral-rich slip for a monochrome finish. Hand-formed using a coil method, the vessel nonetheless has thin walls and a balanced form, tapering gently at the mouth. An anthropomorphic face sits atop a subtle band ringing the vessel, exhibiting a mix of human and non-human features.
