Used as the centerpiece of a wealthy gentleman’s home, this style of Qing-dynasty compound cabinet is actually comprised of two stacked storage compartments. The upper compartment was used for hats or out of-season clothes while the lower compartment stored everyday garments. At the base of the lower cabinet is a concealed opening that would have held blankets and other bedding. This contemporary iteration honors the traditional form and was constructed of elmwood reclaimed from 19th-century Chinese buildings. Exhibiting rich, lustrous wood and handcrafted brass hardware, this tall cabinet is a fantastic way to anchor a space.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
