Made of wood reclaimed from 18th-century Chinese buildings, this contemporary three-legged stool is the epitome of farmhouse modern. Skilled in traditional joinery techniques, our craftspeople fashioned a simple, portable stool, much like those that would have been moved about a provincial courtyard home for impromptu meals or gatherings. Embracing the notion of “wabi-sabi,” the stool charms with its irregular edges, mottled color, and fascinating array of knots, splits, and nail holes that hint at the wood’s earlier use.
