Dated to the late 19th century, this silver charm ring was believed to protect the wearer from bad luck and malevolent spirits. The ring is decorated with a repoussé design of two cicadas surrounded by geometric patterns.

A common motif in Chinese art, cicadas have had many interpretations - as symbols of immortality, integrity, honesty and cyclical resurrection. In recent years, cicadas have even come to refer to a person who amazes with a single brilliant feat. The front of the ring is strung with three thin chains, each bearing a charm of a ripe offering fruit.

Ring band is adjustable. All jewelry sales are final. No refunds or exchanges.
