This Japanese serving tray exemplifies the refined style of Meiji-era lacquerware. Elevated by a splayed footed base, the tray has a shallow, square top with raised sides and rounded corners. The tray top is decorated with a serene sansui landscape, delicately brushed atop an even layer of red-orange lacquer. A time-honored way to serve food or drink, we love this tray as a serving platter, catch-all dish, or tabletop display stand.

Tray top has split due to age. Minor chip to rim.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
