Dated to the turn of the century, this provincial stool would have been used throughout a courtyard home as versatile everyday seating. Hand-crafted of pine, the tapered stool has a rectangular seat supported by four splayed legs, each linked with double side stretchers and simple floor stretchers. An additional wood board provides further stability, affixed to the stool's front in place of a decorated apron. Gently worn from a century of use, the stool has been left unfinished to showcase its light coloring and fantastic, raw texture.
