The Ebrie are one of several groups who reside in the complex of lagoons found on the southern coast of Cote d’Ivoire. A matriarchal society, the Ebrie are known for the striking hand-carved female figures used in fertility or ancestor rituals. Displaying strength and femininity, this figure has a taut, compact physique with ripe curves and muscled, articulated arms. Button-like scarifications and an elaborate coiffure add decorative details that root the figure firmly within the aesthetics of Lagoon culture.

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
