This unusual weapon is a cast iron Indian push dagger, known as katar or katara. Dated to the late 19th century, the katar features a hand-grip of two horizontal bars and a broad, triangular blade ideal for piercing through armor or chainmail. An iconic weapon that dates back to the 17th century, the katar dagger was used both as a close-range melee weapon and as an ornamental blade, with finely decorated examples carried by nobles and elites as a symbol of their status and good taste. Elevated by a custom steel stand, the dagger lives on as a minimalist sculpture.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
