This charming set of brushes was once used by a well-to-do lady to store her cosmetics and maintain an elegant updo hairstyle. Also known as a toilet service or grooming set, vanity sets were a popular wedding gift and were kept on the woman's bedroom dressing table. This sterling silver and guilloché enamel vanity set dates to the 1920-30s - just before vanity sets fell out of popularity with the rise of longer hairstyles.

The set includes five individual pieces, including four brushes and one hand mirror. The tops are engraved with an intricate guilloché pattern and finished with a soft, lavender-purple enamel. The result is a mesmerizing, translucent finish that catches the light beautifully.

From the collection of Frances and Gary Comer.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
