Dated to the early 20th century, this elegant porcelain plate brightens its surroundings with a soft, peachy-orange glaze. The plate is decorated in gilt linework with a spray of peonies and chrysanthemums, emblems of spring and autumn. Taken together, the two flowers convey a blessing of longevity, wealth, and honor, a sentiment echoed in the accompanying painted characters.

From the collection of Frances and Gary Comer.
