Centuries ago, a woven reed fisherman’s basket such as this would have been common in rural China as an everyday item, used until it became worn through. This 19th-century example remains in beautiful condition, lightly darkened with neutral brown color and subtle wear. The willow and reed weave has worn beautifully with time but remains intact - a true testament to the maker’s skill. Today, we love these woven fishing baskets as elegant waste bins, laundry hampers or storage containers.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
