A dark blue-black glaze coats the round body of this squat kitchen vessel, dripping down its sides with subtle iridescence. The early 20th-century spouted vessel was once used for storing wine or soy sauce in a Qing-dynasty kitchen, as evidenced by its interior glaze. Dotted with imperfections, the lustrous dark glaze gives this pantry jar a glassy appearance, contrasted by the unfinished base and lip. We love this wine vessel as an unusual vase or tabletop planter.
