Centuries ago, a woven reed fisherman’s basket such as this would have been common in rural China as an everyday item, used until it became worn through. This 19th-century example remains in beautiful condition, lightly darkened with neutral brown color and subtle wear. Antique iron staples reinforce the bentwood rim and add to the basket's fantastic character. Today, we love these woven fishing baskets as elegant waste bins, laundry hampers or storage containers.
