"Forest Mist" Meditation Stone

Sculptural and unusual stone formations have long been fixtures of the Chinese scholars' studio, displayed as sources of beauty and creative inspiration. Known as scholars' rocks (gongshi), such stones were said to help focus the mind while composing poetry, painting landscapes, or writing calligraphy.

This sculptural meditation stone is awash with currents of green, red and black, a blend of rich colors that evoke all the complexities of nature. Inclusions of white marble contrast the bright colors like a haze of misty clouds, swirling around a mountain peak or obscuring a verdant forest landscape. Polished to accentuate its smooth contours, the stone is elevated by a custom steel mount for display as a gorgeous natural sculpture.
