Perfecting line and proportion, the simple design of this low locking chest celebrates the restraint of classic Chinese furniture forms. Crafted of wood reclaimed from 19th-century buildings, this contemporary cabinet is modeled after those used for general storage in a Qing-dynasty home. The cabinet is minimally decorated save for its black finish and the soft glimmer of its brass dagger-post lock. We love this chest placed bedside or next to a sofa, filled with a collection of contemporary art books or antique tomes.
