This early 20th-century stool from China's Shanxi province charms with its wide stance and simple form. Its rectangular seat is supported by tapered legs bolstered by double stretcher bars. Gently weathered from years of use, the stool has an unfinished surface that shows off the light color and raw beauty of its pine wood construction.
