The restrained silhouette of this low Japanese table beautifully showcases the extraordinary patterning of the lacquered table top. Flecked with bits of shell and gold powder, the red lacquer finish was carefully poured over the wooden surface and sanded down to reveal a gorgeous marbled effect, reminiscent of scagliola. The captivating top is contrasted by simple square legs that fold upwards under the table top. A fantastic example of Japanese lacquerware, we love this piece as a low bench or coffee table.
