This magnificent three-drawer bombe commode dates to the mid-18th century and exemplifies the Swedish Rococo furniture style. The commode has a pleasing curvilinear shape, a sinuous line drawn by the high knees, flared legs, and outward swell of its three drawers. The serpentine shape is characteristic of Swedish Rococo commodes, as is the distinctive parquetry veneer and thin gilt handles. Each of the three wide drawers is decorated with parquetry borders and gilt foliate handles and keyhole escutcheons. The faux-marble top contrasts the warm coloring of the wood body with a decorative finish of swirling green and grey veining.

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
