Although the traffic light says stop, there is nothing static about this 2003 photograph by Doug Fogelson. The artist captures the restless energy of Chinese urban life in a stream of pedestrians walking beneath a tangle of streetcar lines, colorful billboards, and the vertical rise of hive-like buildings. The work is part of a series taken during the artist’s honeymoon in China, when his wife, a Hong Kong native, visited the mainland for the first time. The photograph’s rosy cast hints at this time of romance and discovery.

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
