Created by Beijing-based artist Deng Ying exclusively for PAGODA RED, this limited edition hand-painted seal box is one of a series playfully drawing on the Chinese tradition of blue-and-white porcelain. Fired at the historic Chinese imperial kilns of Jingdezhen, this petite box is painted with two birds with wings outstretched. Perhaps intended to be a mother and her child, the pair is painted with cartoonish form and expressive brushstrokes. A small container in this shape would have traditionally been used to contain ink for an artists seal stamp. Today, it is just right for jewelry or keepsakes. The box is signed and presented in a hand-made cushioned wood presentation box.

Andrea Goldman | Andrea Goldman Design

“Over the years, I’ve incorporated many pieces from PAGODA RED into my designs. Not only can they balance new furnishings (and often new construction) by feeling more established, but the pieces emanate a sense of rich history, often leaving you wondering where they were in a previous life. These beautiful pieces carefully hand-selected by the team at PAGODA RED, coupled with their unbelievable customer service, make them a must-have for any home.”
