This beautifully crafted deco bar was carved by hand out of esteemed rosewood in 1930's Shanghai. The design was heavily influenced by the Art Deco movement in the West that was brought to Shanghai by Europeans during the economic boom of the early 20th century. Each of the doors are carved with a floral cartouche. The ribbed front, rounded ribbed shelves and legs are pure deco, while the rosewood is pure Chinese—a wonderful expression of the way West met East during this time period.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
