Once a common sight in courtyards throughout rural China, this textured grey stone trough was filled with grain for chickens and other barnyard fowl. Chiseled from a block of stone over a century ago, this trough has a uniquely sculptural form, with an uneven surface, textured interior, and asymmetrical contours. Recently drilled with a small hole for drainage on one side, the trough makes a wonderful planter, perfect for hens-and-chicks and other lush succulents.
