Limestone Melon Drum

This large stone drum stool was carved from solid limestone with a ribbed texture suggestive of a squash or melon, traditional symbols of longevity and perpetuity. The drum-form stool swells with gently tapered sides and a flattened top bordered by a rounded lip. Traditionally used as a place to rest one’s feet, stone drums such as this are ideal as side tables or garden seating.
