Deceptively simple, this early 20th century stool from Hebei province shows off the ingenious joinery methods traditionally used by Chinese carpenters. The stool’s three splayed legs are supported by stretcher bars that interlock at the center to form a triangle. Not only does this provide stability, it adds a sense of balance and design intrigue to the otherwise simple form. Unusually tall, the round stool looks fantastic as casual seating at a bar counter or kitchen table.

What They're Saying

Elizabeth Krueger | Elizabeth Krueger Design

“PAGODA RED was extremely supportive in helping to pull accessory options together for the Lake Forest Showhouse. After providing them with details and our vision on how we were looking to finish our space, Laurene helped curate options that made it easy for us to edit and finalize. It's also no surprise that the unique pieces we used in our showhouse space were some of the first to sell.”
