The feng deng, or square stool, form was popular for its simplicity and utility in the home. The simple legs, stacked edging, sinuous braces, and rattan top make this a particularly unique example. The timeworn finish combines with rattan and original wood grain to provide a spectrum of tones and textures. Originally used as a seat in a traditional Chinese home, this stool lives on as a unique side or accent table in the modern home.

“I am particularly fond of PAGODA RED as we have known the family for so long. Betsy is a professional in every way and her intelligent taste comes from a long line of family knowledge in the arts. She and her team are the very best to work with and we find treasures with every visit!”
