With unusual height and an additional stretcher bar midway up the legs, this provincial four-leg stool likely doubled as a step-ladder. Crafted in Henan province in the early 20th century, the stool has a plank-top seat and stands on four splayed legs linked by multiple stretchers. The wood has an unfinished texture, softened by a light patina and gentle wear. A rustic accent to the home, we love this tall stool as a charming side table or place to perch.
